The DesignWise Engineering Manager is experienced and highly effective with mechanical equipment. Relevant and strong electrical experience is a definite plus. This position is a demanding one from the standpoint of performance, productivity and output. This is a very rewarding position due to the rapid completion of projects and the variety of companies and products we work with.

The Engineering Manager reports to the President and is accountable for producing results regarding:

- Primary Responsibilities
- Manage DesignWise projects and project managers
- Supervise and lead DesignWise employees
- Secondary Responsibilities
- Help secure DesignWise projects
- Maintain clear and timely communication with customers

- On-time, on-budget, and high-quality products and services
- Deliver communications in the timely manner to all relevant parties, and ensure that all parties have an accurate understanding of what is being communicated.
- All work will be performed at 700 Research Ave, Waco TX 76705.
- Working remotely is not part of this agreement, but may be adopted by Diversified.
- Whatever it takes to get the job done: Occasionally additional hours will be required without additional compensation to meet due dates, and could include evenings and weekends.
- 40-hour work weeks. Core Hours: Mon. – Thurs. 8:30am – 4:30pm, and Fri. 8:30am – noon.
- Performance reviews happen after the first 90 days and annually usually around April.
- Meeting Attendance and Participation
- Weekly One-on-Ones with the President (25 minutes).
- Weekly DesignWise Department L10 meetings (50 minutes).
- Monthly All-Office meetings (25 minutes).
- Annual performance reviews with each of your direct reports.
- Annual review of your performance with the President.
- Project meetings as needed internally and with customers.
- Travel
- As needed for customer project reviews, trade shows, and other business development opportunities, but this should be limited to about 20 days a year total.
qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Ten (10) years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Extensive mechanical design and stress analysis experience.
- Experience with FEA and the latest 3D CAD software, including SolidWorks, Inventor, or CREO.
- Be a customer interface.
- Project management skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in 3D modeling and drafting with SolidWorks, Inventor or CREO.
- Strong Microsoft and Google Workspace skills (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint
